A Worldwide Kingdom

Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings. Romans 16:16

As Paul brings his full letter to the church in Rome to a close, he reminds the church there that there are other churches in the region.

It’s easy to think we’re involved in the only church doing good for Christ, but in reality, there are thousands of others that are also doing good things for Christ. This is true for denominations, churches, and even entire countries (i.e., you will never hear about the good things that churches in persecuted countries are doing and we shouldn’t fret when we don’t hear; more publicity for them means more persecution).

The Kingdom of God is truly worldwide. Again, you may not see it, hear about it, or even think about it, but it exists. The church is growing in every country, and in every city.

As Brothers and Sisters in Christ, we need to find opportunities to pray for and minister to churches outside our present circle of acquaintances. For instance, the Middle East has been in the news a lot lately. Pray for Believers in those countries: Israel, Syria, Russia, Egypt, and Iran. Their lives are in a state of turmoil given the rapidly changing political situation.
