The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Romans 8:15-16

Picture a little child running into the arms of her father. Picture now an adopted child running into the arms of her adopted father. More than likely there is no difference. Why? Because the adopted child is no different in the father’s eyes and in the eyes of the child. That father will move heaven and earth to see that his child is cared for. When the child cries out in pain, the father aches. When the child is picked on, the father will try to defend the child. The father will go without food to provide for the child.

Again, in the eyes of the father, there is no difference.

So, when was the last time you ran into the Father’s arms?
