8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9
What could be better than the salvation of our souls? Absolutely nothing this side of heaven. We don’t quite know what awaits us in eternity, though we get glimpses. We do know that Jesus will be there sitting at the right hand of the Father. Of course the Holy Spirit will be there though I’m not sure in what capacity.
So where is this life of faith leading us? To eternity to see the King of Kings. The atheists and secularist in the world mock at our ability to see and worship the unseen. But this world is all they have. We’re very happy that this life is not all there is, and look forward to something much much better. It’s what we’ve been waiting for.
We have faith that one day – we don’t know when or how exactly – we will see Him face to face. Then we will know that we “have arrived,” which is very different than the world’s view of having arrived.
