Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?
Is it not you, God, you who have now rejected us and no longer go out with our armies? Psalm 60:9-10

If the Lord ever lifted his protection on any people or nation, the people would cease to exist. If He ever did that with modern day Israel, the Muslims would overwhelm that country in a day. Right now Israel’s fortification is the Lord Himself; there’s no other way to explain it. He has successfully (as if there was another way He does things) blinded the minds of Israel’s enemies and confused their plans. He has given its leaders great wisdom in defending its borders.

You may wonder why I focus so much on Israel in this space. Fair question.

The Lord God Himself focused on that people and left us with many vivid illustrations of His love and compassion towards them. As you pray for them again today, consider this quote: as goes Israel, so goes the world. I wouldn’t want to find out if this axiom is true, but one thing is certain, those who have supported Israel in the past have earned God’s favor.
