Blessed by Prayer

2 See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads.
3 With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. Psalm 83:2-3

Over the years the Lord has had a great number of enemies, perhaps too numerous to count. He’s never been deterred by them in the least. It’s even fair to say He’s outlived them all! Even the person who famously said his rock group was more famous than Jesus Christ – John Lennon – well, he’s not around anymore either.

But they still try to attack Him and the people who follow Him. And even as they try to destroy the church around the world by imprisoning pastors and church leaders, the church continues to grow. It’s something that Satan doesn’t get because his job is to tear down and destroy. It’s in Satan’s nature to destroy; he can’t do otherwise.

The encouraging news, though, is that the global church is as strong as it ever was. We don’t see it and we don’t hear about it, but it’s thriving around the world.

Daily we hear stories of the plight of people in other countries. Next time one of those stories appears, pray for the church in that country.

Pray that men and women of God will continue to be obedient to His leading. You may never know their names on this earth, but they will be blessed through your prayers.
