Blessed to Bless

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:1-3

The Lord provided Abram (and the rest of us) with an ultra simple evangelism model. I will bless you; go bless others. I don’t think we appreciate how brilliant (and simple) this model is.

Most of us believe that evangelism is difficult, but we overcomplicate it. In its basic form, it’s making a phone call to encourage someone. You were blessed this morning by something you read so you just pick up the phone to call someone.

Simple.

Of course you can take it further by telling someone what God has done for you today.

Even further is going to a foreign land, and when people ask you why you’re there, instant open door to share the Good News.

But it starts by blessing people here, across the street or in the store. Don’t overcomplicate it.

Then tomorrow when you get blessed, you go do it again.

That’s it.

But I know you because I know me, and we’ll take in blessing after blessing, waiting for the right time to do the right thing. Hours turn into days, which turn into weeks before you bless someone else.

Bless someone today.

Today.
