32 “Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. Acts 20:32
As Paul began to leave, he blessed those who stayed behind.
I had a missionary friend who used to do that. Before leaving, he would bless our family in prayer. That was 20 years ago. The words are long forgotten, but I still remember the gesture and how that made us feel.
I am in a barbershop quartet. We close each practice with one song: The Irish Blessing.
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always be at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again, may He hold you in His hands
May God hold you in the palm of his hands
It sets the right tone for the evening and the rest of the week.
I encourage you to bless people’s houses before leaving. It doesn’t have to be long or eloquent. It’ll encourage them to do the same with others.
