Have you ever marveled at the utter foolishness and evil of those who don’t believe? They are a vivid reminder of what we could have been. We don’t like what we see and yet there are times we see ourselves in them, sometimes resorting to the same tactics and antics we see in them.

God is still working in the world. We see the selfishness, greed, and pettiness of others. And if we’re honest, it rubs off on us, more than we think it does. God allows us to get a glimpse of what could have been. The fact that He continues to give us glimpses into our potential humbles us because we tend to forget what it was like “on the other side.”

No, He never gives up on us.
