the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 1:2-4

These three verses pack a great deal of truth and power. The Old Testament pointed the way towards Jesus Christ, and the New Testament was the fulfillment of the promises the Old Testament made. Those of us who have lived after Christ was born are able to be witnesses to the object of that “gospel”, Jesus Christ. Old Testament patriots could only get glimpses.

I believe we who have experienced the transforming power of the resurrection have an opportunity and responsibility to carry on the legacy, not just to our children but to our neighbors and ultimately to the next generation.

How is that done? Sometimes it’s through our actions; sometimes it’s through our words. You don’t need to be a fiery evangelist; you just need to speak up when He nudges.

Pray for these opportunities. Pray for boldness and the right words.
