9 Do your best to come to me quickly, 2 Timothy 4:9
The subject headings for the rest of these verses states, “Personal Remarks.” While they do mention individuals, those personal remarks are recorded and for all of us to read and consider. How long had it been since Paul had seen Timothy? Were they likely to meet up again before Paul’s death? I don’t know for sure, but we do know this, Paul loved Timothy’s encouragement and fellowship in this life. We all have these kinds of people in our lives, people you haven’t seen in years but when you call them up, it’s as if you never went away.
Right now you’re thinking of one or two of these friends or family members.
Reach out to them before the day is finished. Call them. Send them a text or an email. Go visit them if they’re close enough. Chances are good they’re thinking of you this way too. Good friends are hard to find, which I’m sure Paul found out the hard way.
