19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. 20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. 21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.”
22 Noah did everything just as God commanded him. Genesis 6:19-22
So after a half century of honing his carpentry skills, Noah set off to gather animals, and a lot of them. The logistics of that chore must have been a nightmare plus he would have had to plan for food for all of them and get them on board in a reasonably orderly fashion. The pictures we see of Noah ushering them on board two by two in a single file is probably inaccurate.
But while he was bringing them on board, he must have realized that whatever was coming next would happen quickly. Was there ever rain before this time? We don’t have knowledge of it.
Verse 22 is so simple and powerful, isn’t it. Noah obeyed God. Out of everything Noah had to do, he figured it out and did it. God had given him a unique skill set to do that very thing.
God has also given us unique skill sets to do what we do. Are you using them to His glory today?
