25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:25-26
If you are praying for lost loved ones, these two verses seem to be well-suited prayers for that. Satan has, in fact, trapped the unbelieving but they don’t quite know it. Sometimes, though, many will need to reach rock bottom until they look up and come to their senses. It was like that for the Prodigal Son. It was like that for Jonah. It’s very painful to witness because we don’t like to see people in pain, but the alternative is worse.
Take a few moments today to commit these two verses to memory. Say them out loud. Write them down. Let the words sink in.
