Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, in keeping with the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus, 2 Timothy 1:1
Promise of life in Christ Jesus. How can this be? Don’t we all die? Aren’t we all subject to the laws of nature?
For certain we all die. But Jesus has promised us life in Him. In fact, He said we would have abundant life in Him (John 10:10). But rarely do I see that abundant life in others. They/We struggle day to day just to get by. Sometimes we go through the motions of life and really aren’t living. We get up, go about our day, watch TV or the internet, then go to bed – only to do it again the next day…and the next….and the next.
But God wants us to have an abundant life. We are more than the skin and bones and mind we possess.
So, how do we do that? How do we live that abundant life? It starts with being content in Jesus. It’s certainly not an easy task but it’s very doable. Next, is serving others. I’m sure there are others, but those two steps will allow to live life abundantly. Seriously. Often we just get so inward and self-focused. Serving others gets the focus off of us and onto others. Jesus was our model. He served others while He was doing great and mighty things. And what were some of those great and mighty things? Serving and helping others.
If we can grasp that truth, it will change our world!
