1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— Titus 1:1
This verse could easily be Paul’s mission statement. His mission was to “further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness.” Essentially he was preaching and teaching, and I suspect he was great at both. Paul had incredible self-awareness. He knew who he was, what he could do, and where he was going in life. If he was furthering the faith of God’s elect or furthering their knowledge of the truth, it gave him great joy. Even before he became a believer, he was zealous and ambitious. Afterwards, he became all the more passionate about his faith because he knew it was the truth.
What about you and me? Do we know who we are, what our gifts are, what our mission in life is? If not, why not?
