12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12
Even though this was a common way of writing in the Book of Proverbs, don’t miss its significance. The first part of the verse gives us insight into the spirit world. God desires to commune with us. He wants us to pray and talk to Him about the important and the mundane. The last part of the verse should be a wake up call for sinners and saints alike. Even though He turns away from the deeds of the wicked, He still knows what happens. He remembers so, even though someone got away with a heinous act right now, it will be punished in due time. It’s not a great answer to sin from our perspective, but God is just. Justice will prevail.
So, does God smile down on you or turn His face from you?
