Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered,
or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared. Proverbs 22:24-25
With each new proverb, God is showing us how to live. He is giving us wisdom if we will learn it.
Not associating ourselves with easily angered people is wise. Why? Because when we end up being like that person, it’s not good for anyone. The cycle goes like this: someone provokes you, you get angry and say or do something foolish, you then need to go back to the person to apologize, then it happens all over again. God is just saving us heartache down the road. It’s not the first time we’ve seen this type of verse, and I suspect it won’t be the last.
We need to be careful who we associate with because we may eventually become like that person. It’s just sound wisdom.
