The Fight is Worth It

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:31

We conclude the last verse in the book of Proverbs on a positive note.

After all the virtuous woman has done, she should be honored and praised, both in the home and in the community. We know that she could easily rest on her laurels and rest but there is more work to be done, more things to do for her family. It seems like it’s a never ending cycle, and in many respects, it is. But as Solomon said in the Book of Ecclesiastes: .

A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness Ecclesiastes 2:24-26

No one denies that life is difficult. Often it’s completely unfair. Sometimes life can be downright monotonous. But blessed is the man (or woman) who is able day after day to get up in the morning and face each new challenge as it comes.

Keep in the battle. Keep engaged. The fight for your family and honor is worth it.
