A gift opens the way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great. Proverbs 18:16
Today as you bow before the Lord, what are you bringing to Him? I know, it’s a vague question and intended to be so, but I think we can all answer it.
First of all, do you show up before the Lord, which oftentimes is more than half the battle?
When you approach “the throne of Grace,” are you bringing your problems and pains and joys? Are you bringing your concerns? Are you bringing your complaints and cynicisms? What about your intellect and your sense of humor?
Consider this: God wants to be with you.
Read that sentence again.
And all those “gifts” you bring? Bring ’em. He wants to be near you. Why? Because He loves you and sacrificed His Son, which was the greatest gift any father could give.
When you do draw near, the gifts He gives will satisfy: peace, patience, grace, abundant joy, etc. etc. etc.
