The Message

2 Remember the nation you purchased long ago, the people of your inheritance, whom you redeemed—Mount Zion, where you dwelt.
3 Turn your steps toward these everlasting ruins, all this destruction the enemy has brought on the sanctuary. Psalm 74:2-3

When Asaph wrote this, God had forsaken Israel, though it had probably seemed like it. Even today He has not turned His back on her, nor on her people. His desire is for everybody to come to repentance, whether Jew or Gentile.

Here is the gospel message in a nutshell: “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” It’s the same message for those who think they are close to God by their words and actions, and to those who know they are very far away.

Though it’s a very simple message, it confounds those who don’t believe. “There has to be something more to it than that!” they say. But no, that is the Good News of Jesus Christ for all the world to know.
