Under Control

From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;
    before those who fear you I will fulfill my vows.
The poor will eat and be satisfied;
    those who seek the Lord will praise him—
    may your hearts live forever!

All the ends of the earth
    will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
    will bow down before him,
for dominion belongs to the Lord
    and he rules over the nations. Psalm 22:25-28

When the nations make pacts and treaties that would seek to destroy other nations; when the Nation of Israel continues to be surrounded and taunted because it hasn’t given up enough land; when nations stockpile massive amount of arms and nuclear weapons – just in case, and when normally good children behave completely against their parents’ values and upbringing, it’s easy to ask “where is God? Is He not in control?”

It’s hard to imagine how God is able to know all the intricacies and details of everyone’s lives and still be sane! There are just so many “moving parts”, how could you possibly keep it straight? That’s laughable, isn’t it?

Not only does God have it all sorted out but He’s already 47,000,000+ steps ahead in each situation. He’s not worried, nor does He break a sweat wondering how such and such situation will be resolved. Nothing surprises or astounds Him. So, for David to say that He “rules over the nations” is quite the understatement.

Is there anything we can throw His way that He cannot handle? Absolutely NOT. Nothing is too big or too small for God.

Nothing.
