10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11
As we enter the Christmas season, billions will be spent on toys that kids will forget about on December 26th. Adults are only marginally better. What good is an expensive (or inexpensive) toy if it goes unused? Has the money been totally wasted?
God has given us gifts of service, speaking, leadership, and teaching. Like the kiddies at Christmas time, often we only use our gifts once or twice a year. We know what those gifts are – or we once did – but don’t take the time to exercise them. All of this, of course, is to give praise and glory to God. He gives us gifts so that we may praise and glorify Him with those gifts.
What are your gifts and how are you exercising them?
