No harm befalls the righteous, but the wicked have their fill of trouble. Proverbs 12:21
You read a verse like this and you begin to question the sanity and reality of it. Bad things happen to good people. The rain falls on the just and unjust. We’ve seen it and probably have experienced those bad things.
The principle still remains: the God-fearing have a shelter and a place of refuge in the Storms of life. Under that shelter there is safety and security. The hymn writer talked about being hidden “in the cleft of the rock.” We go there when we’re downtrodden and beaten up. We go there when everything is great, often just to enjoy the peace and serenity.
But go there we must.
