Legacies

A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. Proverbs 13:22

Many in this world are caught up in legacies. People want to leave a legacy, and most often they want the legacy to be positive and worthy of the person leaving the legacy. That legacy could be monetary but it’s probably worth more if is is a solid moral upbringing.

To leave a legacy, though, to the second generation takes some careful consideration. What you do must be lasting and deliberate. In a sense it must be planned. Obviously you don’t know how the things you do today will affect the second generation, yet we still hear, “My grandfather once told me…”

It’s an interesting thought to take into the day today. What can you do that will influence not your children, but your children’s children? It’s almost certain that you must influence your own children first.
