Still On Their Side

15 So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. 16 “What are we going to do with these men?” they asked. “Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign, and we cannot deny it. 17 But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.” Acts 4:15-17

What were these leaders afraid of? Were they fearful their power structure would crumble? Were they afraid two men would embarrass them? They couldn’t deny the truth of what happened so they attempted to prevent it from spreading.

This kind of thinking has been happening since the beginning of Christianity and will continue to do so as long as arrogant leaders believe they can crush Christianity.

Fortunately, there are many Believers around the world who know that the God of the Bible is still on their side despite facing heavy opposition. Tucking away that bit of information gives hope in otherwise hopeless situations.
