A Baby Boy

7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:7

It all started with a baby boy in an obscure village. The Son of God came without fanfare, without celebrations fit for a king, without thousands lined up to view the baby. His audience was wise men from the East, shepherds, and smelly animals. That’s it. His first “crib” was a very unsanitary feeding trough!

This one event changed the course of the world, quite literally.

We get a different feel, however, when we read Isaiah’s words: greatness, unending peace, justice, righteousness, zeal. Jesus’ humble beginnings was but a reflection of these words.

His greatness was the very definition of humility.
You see his peace as he lay in the trough. There would be a 33-year period where his life would be one of peace. After all, He was the Prince of Peace.
His birth accented the justice and righteousness the people had been longing for. They were looking for something political, but He provided something eternal.
It had to have been zeal that Jesus would take an assignment of becoming a human to learn our infirmities. He had a zealous passion to make things right between God and man.

What a Savior!

Merry Christmas.
