May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us. Psalm 67:1

This verse is quite similar to the High Priests prayer in Numbers 6:24-25:

The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;

It’s a prayer of blessing. One of our missionary friends used to ask guests if they would pray over their household just before they left. This would certainly be a fitting prayer on such occasion. We also can pray it over a nation because we certainly can live with a touch from Almighty God in this day and age.

Think of someone you can pray this for this week. Ask God to bless and enrich their lives, and then step back and watch Him bless.
