All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast. Proverbs 15:15
What is it like to be oppressed and not have an eternal hope in God? One word: depressing.
Our Brothers and Sisters across the world who are being persecuted for their faith have that hope.
- They know that their suffering for Christ does not go unnoticed.
- They know that He is watching over them.
- They know that at the end of their suffering is great reward.
- These people, even though they are depressed, are continually feasting on the Goodness of God.
- Their outward expression may not be cheery but they have a Hope that the world cannot buy with all the money in the world.
That’s the kind of vibrant faith I want to have.
