Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
As you read this, it will be Thanksgiving Day, the day Americans stop to give thanks. It’s a day we take off to just reflect. Of course there’s plenty of people and activities to occupy our day, but we pause and give thanks.
God has blessed this nation, and we certainly don’t deserve many of the blessings He has bestowed upon us. We have a lot to be ashamed about, but we also have much to be grateful for. Every nation can make that claim to one degree or another, some more than others.
The challenge for our nation going forward is to remember our God and ignore the naysayers in our society that would denounce God. Those detractors are loud and plentiful. Still, though, with God on our side, we have the upper hand, so to speak.
On this day of remembrance, what are you thankful for?
