14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you. Psalm 89:14
It’s difficult to comprehend perfect justice and righteousness, and yet that is the foundation upon which the God of the universe sits. I say that because we don’t see perfect justice in the world…at all. Even good judges and wise rulers have varying motives for how they administer justice. God does give us the intellect and standards to judge rightly, but selfishness, politics, and power often get in the way of anything resembling true justice. To be fair, though, there are many good judges in the world who do their best.
But we all know that this world is but a shadow of a life to come. Wrongs will be righted. Corrupt leaders will be called to account. And God will get all the glory.
We truly do see through a glass darkly (1 Corinthians 13:12), meaning, what we see now is but an faint image of what is to come.
