All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.
Posterity will serve him;
future generations will be told about the Lord.
They will proclaim his righteousness,
declaring to a people yet unborn:
He has done it! Psalm 22:29-31
This passage reminds me of Philippians 2:9-11
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
it won’t be just the poor kneeling; the rich will be there alongside. Though I suppose at that point we will all be on a level playing field – wealthwise. We’ll learn clearly that riches mean nothing in the Kingdom of God. It’s not to say that the poor have a special place in the Kingdom because they’re poor. It’s just that the rich won’t be favored as they often are in this life.
We all will proclaim His righteousness. For many it will begrudge them to do it because they spent their entire lives mocking and cursing God. I don’t know that they’ll have their entire lives flash before them like we see in the movies, but at that point in time, they will probably be shaking their heads and muttering, “what was I thinking??”
For us, though, it will be a great honor to kneel before God Almighty.
