A quarrelsome wife is like the dripping of a leaky roof in a rainstorm; restraining her is like restraining the wind or grasping oil with the hand. Proverbs 27:15-16
How do others perceive you? Think about the leaky roof in this proverb. Annoying? Yes. Harmful? Not in small doses. If not plugged or tamed, the hole will get bigger because it’s the very nature of holes and water.
So, again I ask, are you annoying or pleasant to be around? Do people avoid you? Think of the people you avoid. Why do you avoid them? Chances are good you avoid them because they annoy you in some way. Maybe they’re boisterous and brash. Maybe they speak their minds with no filter. Maybe they just drain you of energy.
We all have our blind spots. There are plenty of others around who would help us with those blind spots if we would let them, but it does involve risk and vulnerability on your part. Think about what it would be like if you could chip away at those blind spots one at a time.
