8 For you, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling,
9 that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 116:8-9
The psalmist was rejoicing over the fact that 1) he was delivered, and 2) he was not free to tell others about it. It’s like he had a new lease on life and was about to explode with excitement.
How long has it been since we’ve experienced this kind of exuberance? How long has it been since we felt the burden of sin lifted from our lives? Do you remember? Do you recall?
Or perhaps you’ve had other instances that were equally life-changing. Did you tell others? Did you “shout it from the roof tops?”
Each and every day God has given us a new lease on life. Sure we stumble and fall sometimes, but the beauty of rising again is that we’re not alone when we do it. Plus we get to share those experiences with others.
