7 When you, God, went out before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness,
8 the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain,
before God, the One of Sinai,
before God, the God of Israel.
9 You gave abundant showers, O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.
10 Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty, God, you provided for the poor. Psalm 68:7-10
When the children of Israel walked through the wilderness, God led them. He did it for 40 years. Throughout those years, He always provided for them. They complained, whined, and rebelled, but He still provided. When He needed them to get wet, He sent rain, only He called it a “refreshing!”
Today, the day after Easter, perhaps you need a “refreshing.” The last few months for you have been hectic and chaotic and you just need relief. Or maybe you’re experiencing loneliness and heartache. The Lord knows these needs. He knows your “breaking point” and He knows your tolerance levels. I do not know what you’ve been going through, but the Lord wants to bless you. Why? Because He loves you and you need to hear this.
You are special to Him and he wants to see you thrive. Even those in the wilderness were blessed with a fresh rain shower every now and again.
Take time before you do anything else to just worship Him. Then let the Holy Spirit pour down on you. Soak up every drop. Be strengthened and encouraged for the road that lies ahead.
