In the Lord I take refuge.
How then can you say to me:
“Flee like a bird to your mountain.
For look, the wicked bend their bows;
they set their arrows against the strings
to shoot from the shadows
at the upright in heart.
When the foundations are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:1-3
Have you taken refuge in the Lord lately? I know, it’s a pretty broad question but it’s one we should be asking regularly. “Why?” you ask? If we’re not taking refuge in Him then we are taking refuge in something else. Now, that “something else” may be a good thing, but it’s not the best.
Our dependency needs to be on Him.
Our sufficiency needs to be in Christ.
Our motivations and dreams need to be heavenward.
It’s sobering to think that we could waste many years of our lives as Believers without needing or depending on Him.
Taking refuge in Him is but one aspect of needing Him and being sufficient in Christ, but it certainly is a great start.
