32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33

These verses could have easily been an introduction to the previous dozen verses.

In many countries and societies, when Christians acknowledge Christ before others, the possibility exists that they will be persecuted for their faith. Not always of course, but often.

In fact, the Gospel message is partially contained in this verse.

It’s such a simple message, isn’t it?

“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.” Acts 16:31

It’s simple but not very popular:

“broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14
