Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25
We are frequently hampered by the “fear of man.” Many of us are so focused and worried about what man thinks about what we do that God comes a distant second. Many object to this but I merely need to ask, “Are you talking about your faith at least once a day? How about once a week? How about once a month?” If not, why not? Certainly at least once a month the opportunity presents itself, wouldn’t you say?
Of course in the big things we will not bend a knee or waver. But I’m talking about the day to day things: the witnessing, the encouraging word, or something as simple as walking away from risque conversations.
My point is not to throw guilt around, for we all must give an account for what we say and don’t say. Instead it’s to note that it’s easy to point out deficiencies in others when we’re just as guilty.
But the good news is that every day we can make small life-changing decisions that will affect ours and others’ lives.
