Again and Again

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

The importance of forgiveness in the life of the Believer cannot be overstated. Actually even the secular world believes that forgiveness is good for the soul and helps you move forward in life. Otherwise, you become bitter and mean.

The problem is, people hurt us often through their words and actions. The hurt is often enough for Jesus to mention it many times, so it’s obviously been a problem for thousands of years. Just when you think you’ve got it nailed down, something or someone else brings up old hurts or tries to hurt again.

We go to the person but he doesn’t see he’s done anything wrong. And again, we go to God to have Him help us release it. We have to let it go or we’ll burst. We have to give it over to Him again and again.

Yes, we have to humble ourselves and ask Him to deal with the situation because the person is unrepentant but you’re still hurting.
