This is perhaps one of my favorite verses in the Bible for it’s the very essence of the Christian life. It’s all about the heart: what goes in, what comes out, good stuff going in, good stuff coming out. You can’t get more basic than that.

Commit this verse to memory today. No excuses. In English, it’s only 13 words. Thirteen simple words. Know every little detail about the verse. Roll it around in your head over and over and over again. When you lie to rest, let these words penetrate your thoughts. When you wake up, wake up with the words on your lips. When you take that afternoon siesta, let the words be on your mind. It will be time worth spent.
