But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. Luke 6:27-28
Out of all the prayers thus far, this is the toughest, praying for those who misuse or abuse you. Recall, though, that Jesus prayed for those who abused Him while He hung on the cross.
So, what do these prayers look like?
Pray that they’ll seek forgiveness.
Pray that you’ll be able to see them as Jesus sees them.
Pray that their eyes will be opened.
Pray that God would smash through their hard heart.
Pray that Jesus would be glorified in your attitude towards them.
It’s not easy in the least, but God’s plan for you at that moment is to pray for them.
And watch then God work in your life and in their life.
