Auditing the Life

Test me, Lord, and try me,
examine my heart and my mind;
for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love
and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness. Psalm 26:2-3

In the second part of this prayer, David is challenges God to test him to be sure that he has been faithful to the Lord. It’s a continuation of the previous verse in that he is seeking to prove his blamelessness.

The obvious question in this passage would be this, “can we claim, as David did, to be above reproach and blameless before God?”

The eternal salvation question may have been answered but what about the now question.

How are we doing now with the skills and talents we have?

Have we relied on God’s faithfulness lately and what exactly does that look like?

Have we known the riches of God’s unfailing love?

We need to ask ourselves these questions on occasion just to keep ourselves in check. Better yet, find a friend who be bold enough to ask you the questions.
