13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
1 Peter 1:13
Again, Peter refers to future events. Remember, the believers he was writing to were exiles. They were away from home in a distant land. many probably faced persecution for their faith.
What better way to encourage them than to talk about the hereafter. It gave them hope that the life they were living now was temporary.
The same applies to us. No matter how bad we experience this life, a better life awaits us. Even if our life is perfect, something much better is on the horizon.
This is the kind of hope that keeps a person motivated and recharged.
Set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. Glory!
