Surely I am only a brute, not a man; I do not have human understanding.
I have not learned wisdom, nor have I attained to the knowledge of the Holy One. Proverbs 30:2-3
I think we all can relate to the Psalmist here. We are just one tiny speck in the world, one of more than six billion people. Add in the universe all around from the galaxies beyond to the smallest atom, we are nothing.
But before we get all depressed at our nothingness in a sea of everything, consider this. If God was so inclined, He could zap this world and all its inhabitants any time He wants, but He hasn’t. Why? Well, I think John 3:16 addresses that question. For God so loved the world.
But why does He love the world? Yeah, that’s a great question that I just cannot find an answer to.
Why an awesome, all powerful God cares about the residents of this sinful, messed up world is way beyond me.
It should be a cause for rejoicing every day of our lives.
