Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right. Psalm 106:3
Most people would look at this verse and move on because who ALWAYS does what is right? Of course the answer is no one, but it doesn’t mean people can’t try.
This verse hints at the opposite though. The history books are filled with injustices made by the lowliest of people to Supreme Court judges in all lands everywhere. People tend to favor their self-interests even when trying to act justly.
This verse, however, admonishes the Believer to be set apart from the rest of the world, to do what is right even when no one is looking – especially when no one is looking. Of course, even we have our self-interests nagging at us when we come to these decision points, but we need to do what is right even if it hurts.
If we do, we will be blessed for it.
