One of the threads weaved in throughout Scripture is the concept of “Being blessed in order to bless others.” We’re not blessed by God merely as a feel-good measure, though that may be a result of His blessings. He blesses us so that we can bless others.

Think of what many churches do during the Christmas season. They pass candles out and they light each others’ candles, one by one. Others bless you so you may bless others. It’s a very simple concept with profound implications.

You are encouraged so you can encourage others.

You are blessed financially so you can bless others financially.

People love you so you can love others. It’s the essence of the Christian life.
