8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:8-9

A common theme throughout the Bible is “He blesses us so that we can bless others.” The implication of verse eight is that when God blesses us, we are then free to bless others by what we do with what He’s blessed us with. It’s cyclical, by design.

When we give of our time, talents, and money we are continuing the cycle. The interesting part is that when we hoard all of our resources, He’s still going to bless us just because of who He is. Part of the blessing, though, is in the giving. It’s a hard lesson to learn until you’ve experienced it firsthand.
