Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Proverbs 31:28
The entire section of Proverbs 31 that deals with the virtuous woman leads up to this verse. Up until now, the woman has done things that are “blessworthy.” In other words, she does many things that her household can praise her for.
Children, have you blessed your Mom lately? If not, why not? If so, do it again.
Husbands, have you praised your wife lately? If not, why not? If so, do it again.
Wives, have you done things that are “blessworthy?” Obviously it’s a lot more difficult for you as a woman to meet the lofty expectations set forth in this chapter than it is for the men and children to rise up and bless you. Chances are good, though, that if you are exhibiting one or two of the attributes, you are probably doing a lot more. How can I say that? Simple. All of these attributes are the stuff character is made from. Many times it would seem like it’s inherent or natural for you, but often to the rest of the world, it is very unnatural.
Ladies, continue keeping the faith and blessing your friends and family. They need a stable reminder of God’s love in their lives.
