15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 1 Thessalonians 5:15

This verse is merely an extension of the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It takes it a step further. When we’re wronged, we have a tendency to want revenge, even if only a little bit. There’s something inherent about wanting to lash out at the person who hurt us.

But we all know that it is neither productive or helpful. In fact, it does just the opposite. We become like the person we’re trying to hurt.

Again and again we must hurl our cares upon Him for He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7) If she does it again, hurl those cares upon Him again. A third, tenth or even a twentieth time? Cast those cares upon Him for He cares for you. If there is any revenge, he’ll mete it out as He sees fit, now or in the future.
