It’s no secret that the Lord has a special place in His heart fo Israel, a fact that baffles most of the world. They haven’t deserved His favor, though they desperately needed it. Throughout history they have wandered far from His fold, have sinned grievously against Him, and always returned to Him begging for forgiveness.

It’s really no different than our relationship with God. We haven’t deserved His favor, though we desperately need it. We wander far from His fold, sin grievously against Him, and always return to Him begging for forgiveness.

So why does God still put up with us? Why does He go to great lengths to continue loving us?

It’s all about His character. He cannot do otherwise.
