Coming Home

1 How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! Psalm 84:1

This psalm is about finding rest in God Almighty. It’s what we do after we’ve viewed the world for a day. It’s like we’re coming home. It’s like what you would experience if you’ve been gone to work all day; you come home to something warm and familiar, something inviting.

The sons of Korah wrote this with the Tabernacle in mind. The temple had not been built.

The dwelling place was a familiar and welcome site to them. It was like they were at home, finally.

Start thinking about rest these next few days. What does it mean? How do we find it? Is it important?

It all starts with us looking at the “big picture, ” (i.e., that of the dwelling place.
