A wise man attacks the city of the mighty and pulls down the stronghold in which they trust. Proverbs 21:22
Ever wonder why Al Quaeda terrorists are continuing to go into Iraq and Afghanistan to fight for their cause? Perhaps they see fighting the Great Satan, i.e., Coalition Forces, as an opportunity to pull down the mighty, and if they do that, they will have gained an enormous stronghold.
Today, as you think about what is happening on those two fronts, pray. Pray for the men and women who are fighting that they would all know that their strength doesn’t come from their weaponry and military strategies, but from the LORD.
Similarly, our attitudes should be like that as well. You see, the strength of our nation doesn’t come from our economy, military, intelligence, or our culture. When we cease to rely on God for that strength, we will cease to be strong as a nation.
If we’re the greatest nation in the world but don’t consider God, what good is it?
If we rely on our own military superiority, economic power, and intellectual might, what happens when the tough times come? Where will we turn?
